COVID-19 Vaccinations

The NHS is currently in the process of delivering COVID-19 vaccinations nationwide. The national vaccine rollout has now begun, with the vaccine available at a large number of local vaccination centers.

Vaccination Bookings
​
The government is offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people in order of their age. Currently, the government has invited everyone over the age of 5 to be vaccinated at least once. Everyone over the age of 16 is eligible for at least two doses.
You can book your vaccine by visiting the National Booking Service website or by calling 119.
You are also eligible for the vaccine if you provide care for another person and you live with that person, or if you live with someone who is immunocompromised (has an immune system which does not function well or does not function at all). If this is the case, please contact the surgery by email and let us know. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee when you will be able to receive your vaccine if you are eligible based on these criteria.

The vaccines now being offered at most vaccination centers in London are the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer (Comirnaty), and Moderna (Spikevax) vaccine. The vaccine is safe and highly effective.
It is not possible to choose which vaccine you receive when you go for your appointment. If you believe that you require a particular vaccine due to your age or a medical condition, you will need to speak to your GP.

We would like to politely request that you do not contact the surgery regarding the COVID-19 vaccine until you are eligible to be vaccinated. We thank you for your understanding at this busy time.

Some people are receiving suspicious calls and text messages offering the Covid-19 vaccination.
To protect yourself and your family members from fraud and criminals, remember the following points:

The vaccine is only available from the NHS and is being offered to people in priority groups. Vaccination is free and the NHS will contact you when it is your turn or if you are in an eligible group, you can now book through the National Booking Service at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by ringing 119 for free. You may receive an invitation to be vaccinated through the NHS, through your employer, or by contacting your GP surgery. Anyone offering a vaccine in exchange for money is committing a crime.
The NHS will never:

ask you to press a button on your keypad or send a text to confirm you want the vaccine.

ask for payment or for your bank account or card details, whether to pay for a vaccine or to confirm your eligibility for the vaccine.

ask you for your PIN or banking password.

arrive unannounced at your home to administer the vaccine – at the moment we are also not making house calls to deliver or discuss the vaccine.

ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport, driving licence, bills, bank account details or pay slips.

If you receive a call you believe to be fraudulent, hang up. If you believe you have been the victim of fraud or identity theft you should report this directly to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. Where the victim is vulnerable, and particularly if you are worried that someone has or might come to your house, report it to the Police online or by calling 101.

Please remember: If you are asked to pay for the vaccine or asked for your bank account details, it is a scam.
